Ikyoto Day #28: Hot Toddy!

I forgot my camera at work, so I couldn't take a photo of my last thing for this month.  I made a hot toddy with tea, whiskey, sugar and lemon.  This kind of was the perfect end to a very challenging month for me.  Thanks to everyone for participating in this adventure together, I just hope that next year I feel more inspired.  Don't get me wrong though, I'm proud just to have made it through.

Ikyoto Day #27: Homemade Mostly Veggie Stock

Dsc05658

I started putting things like celery tops and raw chicken bones into a bag in the freezer to make a homemade frugal stock.  We use a lot of stock in our cooking (I can't remember the last time I cooked quinoa with water), so it is great to have on hand.  I roughly based this on a recipe from Martha Stewart's Cooking School book, which my fiancee got for Christmas.

It's not so photogenic, but yum!

Ikyoto Day #23: Raw Video and Audio Footage

I don't really know anything about recording video or audio files, so today I recorded a short bit on Garage Band and a bit of jumpy footage using a flip-cam video recorder. This was just the very first test, so hopefully it will be something to build off of in the future. Also my sister wanted a tour of my new home remotely.

(I'm still figuring out how to actually post the footage to youtube since my first attempt failed.)
